What Phone Number Should a Dasher use to Contact Doordash?

Every dasher has at some time been in a situation when they had to contact Doordash customer support. Usually, what we do is use the Doordash chat feature to contact a Doordash rep and everything is fine. Sure, we may at times be #50 on the wait list and that can be annoying, but it's good to know that in five or ten minutes we will have a Doordash rep to help us take care of the problem that we are contacting them about.


I was in a situation last night that forced me to initiate contact with Doordash. After receiving an order, I went to the restaurant and placed the order in the drive-thru. The customer ordered eight different items, but two of the items the merchant did not have. Okay, no big deal, I texted the customer, but I did not get an answer. Being in the drive-thru, I could not take forever so I called the customer up. I told the customer the situation, and they were not happy so they told me to just forget it and cancel the whole order. Now, I have been in situations like this before, and customers will usually just say forget that item, or replace that item with something else, but this guy was really disappointed and just wanted to cancel the whole order. He was not rude or anything, he just seemed really disappointed and asked why in the heck Doordash has it on their menu when it is not available. I was kind of disappointed myself because, not because the merchant did not have the items; things like that just happen in life. I was disappointed that I would not be paid for this order, but I also felt kind of bad for this guy. I told him that canceling the order was not a problem and that was that.



I know that customers can cancel the order from their side, but I actually wanted to be the one doing the canceling because I wanted to contact Doordash and tell them the situation so that I could get paid at least a few dollars for showing up at the restaurant. If the customer canceled their order from their end, I would not get anything. I went to the Doordash chat feature, but I was welcomed with a message that said "Doordash chat is not currently available." Five minutes later, I was getting the same message.

When I could not contact Doordash through their chat feature I needed to call Doordash and talk to somebody. I had the phone number to contact Doordash in the past, but somehow it seemed to have vanished from my phone. A Google search seemed to provide a bunch of useless numbers. If any dasher out there finds themselves in a situation when they need to actually call Doordash and speak to a dasher rep, the Doordash telephone number is (855) 973-1040. When calling this Doordash phone number, a recording will ask you if you are a customer, restaurant or a dasher. You choose the correct answer and the phone system will guide you from there. As a dasher, you will be placed on hold for a while and a Doordash rep will eventually come on and help you.

After I retrieved this terrific Doordash telephone number again, I was placed on hold and was forced to listen to some elevator music. Before I knew it, I had been on hold for about half an hour. Okay, something must be wrong here. I have called this number in the past and never had to wait that long. Meanwhile, the customer is texting me to cancel the order. I text him back exactly what was going on. I told him that I cannot contact Doordash through any means to cancel the order. I also let him know that I am stuck with his order on my screen which is preventing me from getting any new orders. He feels bad and tells me that he will just order other items from the restaurant. I told him that is not going to happen because I am now seven miles away from that restaurant. The customer cannot figure out how to cancel the order from his end. I finally have an idea. I will put that the merchant is closed. I do so, and I take a picture of the sky as it asks for a picture of the restaurant's business hours sign. I am finally off of this order, and it is canceled after nearly 45 minutes. I got paid $3.50 for arriving at the restaurant.

The Doordash phone number should be mandatory for every dasher to save. It will help out a lot when you need to actually speak to a Doordash representative. In my case here, there was obviously some kind of technical problems, but usually things will work out right.

Some of the phone numbers people receive when using a search engine are to Doordash regional offices, phone numbers that are only for customers, merchants, etc. The phone number 855-973-1040 is made for dashers with the customer or merchant also able to get the help they need.
