The other day I had a problem editing my dash. The app would not let me edit and would just give me an error message. For a dasher, as we all know, the scheduling of dashes is very important. As dashers, having the ability to make your work schedule is a unique privilege that most other working people don't have.
Why can't I edit my dash on the Doordash app?
It seems to be a glitch that comes and goes, but it happens much too often. Not to criticize or anything, but if Doordash is telling the state of California that they are a technology company and not a food delivery company (as the have claimed,) they really should be tech-savvy enough to fix this glitch. It seems to be an ongoing issue that happens off and on. It may happen today, and then not happen again until next month, but that is still much too often.
There are times when I get a full days dash schedule even though I know I won't be dashing all day. Why? because I am not sure of my availability yet. Let's say I get 8 a.m. until 11 p.m. I won't know the time schedule that I am available to dash until that very day. When that day comes, it's 7:30 a.m. and I know what my agenda for the day is. I'll plan to dash in the evening from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m. So there I go to edit my dash, but it won't let me. Instead it just gives me an error message. This is one of the most annoying things ever that the Doordash app can throw at you!
At this point a dasher has two choices. Go on ahead and dash as you were scheduled or don't log in and lose your all day schedule. When in this situation, I'm sure most of us would just lose the schedule and try to get a new one. If we could do the original scheduled dash we would, but there is a reason that we need to edit.
Doordash does not let you edit because they have too many drivers?
I have heard an idea that Doordash may purposely block some of their drivers to eliminate some of their drivers from logging on. There is no proof to this and just an idea that I have heard floating around, and honestly I don't think it's true, but really who knows? Anything is possible.
Have you ever let go of an all day schedule and went right back on to retrieve it, but it is broken up into small fractions? For example, you have a 12 noon to 12 midnight schedule. You let it go and go back to schedules to retrieve it. Most of the time it will be there, but there are times when it wont. The reason is that they have broken up your schedule into something like 12 noon to 2 p.m., 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. to midnight. Yes, Doordash does overbook their drivers sometimes and does not want too many drivers on at one time. This I know is true, but as far as not letting their drivers edit their schedule; again I am not sure.
I don't understand why, when you need to modify your dash (say from starting 9am to 10:30am) it won't let you? I mean, I'd be on schedule anyway.
ReplyDeleteAlso, what's up with your dash being deleted while you're working? I've lost days of work and money because of it. They say it's a glitch and techs are working on it but what about the money I've lost because of it...😫
