Proud Dasher Using a Doordash Taxi Sign on their Vehicle

Oh yes. Delivering for Doodash. A nice gig that many people enjoy these days. Work when you want and how you want. Dashers, as well as other similar type gig opportunity drivers out there really should be grateful for this job.

These types of money making opportunities weren't always out there. In fact, it was within the last decade, and more preciously this past half decade when these jobs became the norm. How proud should we be that we do this work? Should we have pride and let the world know that we Dash?

What made me think of this topic? Well, sometimes I see a Doordash driver that has a taxi sign on top of her vehicle that says Doordash. It just got me thinking. Wow! This person is really proud of their job. I'll get back to that Doordash taxi sign driver in a minute, but I started thinking about other Dashers and if they were that proud to be a Dasher.

How proud are you to be a Doordash Driver?

Everybody is different. There is no right or wrong answer here. We are all just human beings with our own personal feeling and opinions about things. Let's face it, there are people out there that feel a bit different than others when it comes to delivering for these on demand food companies.

Those that are embarrassed to be a Doordash driver

An individual that is embarrassed that they are a Doordash driver may feel that they are too good or smart to be in this line of work. For some reason, they probably think that they are better than your average Dasher. They wouldn't advertise to anybody that they deliver food like some kind of loser. Unfortunately for them, most of their income probably comes from Doordash. Most of us would think a person like this is foolish, but these people are out there trust me.

The very proud Doordash Driver

On the other side of the token, you have the very proud on demand food delivery drivers. You've seen them out there! They have on their Doordash shirt on, maybe a Doordash cap, etc. They are proud to do what they do and are proud to do it for a company that they are proud of. These drivers will preach that a person should take pride in anything they do, and I personally completely agree with this.

The overly proud Doordash Driver

As already mentioned, you should have pride in what you do, but I do think that there is a line to draw. I'm proud to be a Doordash Driver. It's not my ultimate goal in life, but like most Dashers, it's a side gig for me that I use for a purpose.

I'm not a person that would ever wear Doordash gear. Why? I just would rather not. It has nothing to do with being embarrassed about anything. As an independent contractor, I get to choose what I do and don't do. If I were an employee of Doordash, it would be a different story. If somebody asked me if I Doordash, I'd tell them I sure do. No shame in my game. I'm proud of anything I do in life and will do the best I can at it.

Back to the Dasher with the Taxi sign on top of their car that says Doordash. I sometimes run in to this dasher and in my opinion this Dasher is overly proud of their Doordash gig. Again, this is just my opinion. No criticism intended. This Doordash driver rides around town with what looks like a taxi sign on top of their vehicle that says "Doordash." I have included some pictures below of this Dasher's vehicle.

It really seems like a bit much to me. Don't you agree?

I don't want anybody to get the wrong idea and think that I am criticizing this Dasher. If they want a Doordash Taxi sign on the top of their car that is fine. Who knows? Maybe they want to be recognized by the customer when they pull up. This Dasher may have their reasons. Maybe it just makes the Dasher feel good about themselves. Who knows? Personally, I just don't see any benefit of this. Again, just my opinion.

The "Whatever" Doordash Driver

I think most of us would fall into this category. We Dash, and we are neither ashamed or proud to be Doordash drivers. In fact, we don't even give much thought about it. We just do what we need to do to help achieve our goals in life and that extra $500 or $3000 per month certainly makes things happen for us a lot quicker. We would never be ashamed of anything we do, but we would never be overly proud either.
