Happy Independence day to everybody! Our 2021 Fourth of July will be a bit more normal than 2020 as many cities, parks and recreations, etc. will be having firework shows for the public to attend. Although the worries about Covid 19 are not fully gone, and we still have a pandemic going on, we are in a much better time than last year.
People are still spreading and testing positive for Covid 19 daily. With that said, due to vaccinations and the slow down of the disease, people do not have as much fear of catching the Coronavirus as they once did. This will lead to more families gatherings this year than last year. There's going to be a lot of backyard barbecues and drinking going on.
Many families are also going to go out to see firework shows. Many regular attendees of these firework shows missed out last year due to the Covid crisis going on in the world, but thankfully they can enjoy these wonderful firework shows once again. This is especially true for those that live in cities where fireworks are illegal. People in these cities usually depend on these firework shows to celebrate the fourth of July.
Will Doordash be busy on the Fourth of July?
In my personal opinion, there will not be more Doordash calls out there. As already mentioned, many families will be eating and drinking with their families at their homes. Most of them won't need to order any food.
The families going out to a firework show will probably grab something to eat while they are out and about. I'm guessing most of these people will not be ordering any Doordash. If the Fourth of July has any impact on the amount of Doordash calls, I would guess it would be a negative impact and that there will be less calls than normal.
Here are some other things to consider on the Fourth of July. Independence Day is one of the true legal holidays in the United States of America and lots of establishments will be closed on the Fourth of July or will have minimal hours. Also, with events happening there may be traffic congestion in some areas. Lastly, some Dashers may find themselves running in to a police checkpoint as law enforcement works to keep drunk drivers off the road.
Will Doordash offer bonuses of the Fourth of July?
Doordash usually has a special way to get Dashers on the road. They know that a lot of Dashers are going to take the day off and celebrate the Fourth of July with their family and friends. To entice some Dashers to make deliveries for them, chances are that they will offer some kind of incentive or bonus for working Independence Day.
Doordash also knows that there are some people that for whatever reason have no interest in hanging out. They know that there are Dashers out there that would rather Dash and make money, and they will reward these Dashers for their efforts. If you really want to look at things on the bright side, dashing may be fun on the Fourth of July as you'll get to see lots of Firework shows going on while out and about. If you are dashing on the Fourth of July, stay safe and drive carefully. Happy Independence Day and Happy Dashing!
