It's an ugly though. A Doordash driver picking up the food for a delivery and then deciding that they would much rather eat and enjoy the food themselves. Even though it does happen, it is very uncommon for a dasher to do this. Surely if you are a Doordash customer reading this and it's happened to you, you might think that it's more common that what it is, but I guarantee you that the chances of this happening are very small.
Why would a dasher steal the food?
Let's be honest, there is really no reason for a Doordash driver to do this. I mean, they can earn the money for the delivery and then go and buy themselves something to eat. It absolutely makes no sense. I mean, they can lose their dasher account and be out of a job. Anybody with a sound mind would not ever steal a customer's food. There is no meal worth losing your job over!
What kind of dasher would steal a customer's food
Well, let's be frank. It would have to be a no class low-life. Either that, or they seriously have some mental issues. There really is no excuse. It doesn't matter if it is a low paying call or anything like that. No excuses!
Any Dasher caught stealing food should be immediately deactivated
I sincerely believe as I'm sure most others do that anybody that is proven to be stealing customer's food should have their dasher account deactivated. Note the word "Proven."
This does not mean that Doordash should deactivate a dasher's account when a customer makes a false claim that they did not receive their food. I say this because sometimes Doordash can jump the gun too quickly without knowing all the facts. There's no doubt that there are just as many low life customers as there are low life dashers.
I promise you most dashers are not thinking of stealing your food
I will assure all Doordash customers out there that 99.9% of Doordash drivers are not ever thinking about stealing your food. Again, if it happened to you, it was like winning the lottery. Dashers make pretty good money delivering food, and they can buy their own food. They are not starving homeless people thinking about stealing your food.
